Sheppey is the story of a hardworking hairdresser who generally considers himself to be a lucky man and then has that self-belief proved when he wins a considerable sum of money. The Sacred Flame is the story about the misfortune of Maurice Tabret previously a soldier of World War I who had returned home unscathed to marry his sweetheart Stella. Unfortunately, after only a year of marriage, Maurice is involved in a vehicle accident and left crippled. The play itself commences some years later in Gatley House near London, which is the home of Maurice's mother, Mrs. Tabret. The Circle, a wise and witty satire concerning marriage, infidelity, and the battle between passion and practicality. In The Constant Wife Constance Middleton, is a well-groomed English woman who refuses to let the scandal of a straying husband mar the perfection of her emotional décor.
